*waves to lovely readers*
So, I'm not sure how y'all are ending up here at my little ol' blog while searching and trying to find out more about Justin Furstenfeld's baby...but up until now, you've been leaving without learning anything about her. In fact, until so many of you found me while trying to find out about her, I had no clue that he had a baby. So thank you to you all for helping to educate me.
Anyways, I figured that since you are all somehow winding up here and having to go away without learning anything about what you came looking for, I figured I would help you out a little. I asked a few of my friends at RockBandLounge.com who happen to be Blue October fans as well if any of them knew anything. Several offered that they thought he had become a father at some point this year. But the lovely Maritime Gal dug up these links.
This link will take you to a video where Justin discusses taking a few months off earlier this year to be home with his wife when his baby was born. And in this one one, you will find a short video clip where Justin is discussing the joys of fatherhood. *Edited to remove broken second link. Sorry, the article with the video must have been moved by the publisher.*
I hope that this helps all of you out who are looking for information on him and his baby. I do not know exactly when she was born, or what her name is. I don't know anything about a song written about or for this baby, so for those of you who are looking for a baby song, I am sorry. Also, if any of you know any more about this, let me know and I will gladly blog about it so that everyone who is looking can find it.

Baby's name: Blue Reed Furstenfeld (assuming that is her last name)
Born: May 22, 2007
Justin sand a song about/for her at the Sante Fe music festival in 2007, but i am not sure what it is called and i haven't found it anywhere...Congrats Justin and Lisa!! i love you! (and Blue too) :D
the second link doesn't work.
just letting you know...
new cd "approaching normal" has song titled "Blue Does" and i believe this is the song referenced. sweet :o)
Daughter's name is Blue. Wife's name is Lisa.
one song he dedicated to her was called "jump rope" also "blue does" was the main one, it was a song he would sing to her to go to sleep
Are Justin and Lisa still married?
And yes....'Blue Does' is the song he wrote for his daughter. 'Jump Rope' is a fun song he wrote as well about Blue...but Blue Does is his 'baby's song'.
blue skies, jump rope, & blue does
all for Blue Furstenfeld
actually blue skies is about how justin wants to be with his daughter,
blue does is about how much blue has changed his world and opened his eyes, and jump rope is basically saying no matter how bad life gets keep going caus its gonna get better
the song he wrote for her is called...blue skies and blue does ...congrats justin and wife...dont know name lol
His wife's name is Lisa
Ex-wife Lisa. They are divorced now if you can tell by the other songs not written for Blue.
they are not divorced. look:

we are divorced. December 15, 2010.
LOL Is that you Lisa?? Had fun at the lake with you this weekend. Get a hold of me when you are in Omaha. Cha Cha Cha!!!
After listening to the new album and feeling his pain... I think Lisa is a complete loser....
Regardless how Anyone thinks about his ex-wife.. it is not for them to judge. Keep in mind he married her and had a child together. She can't be as bad as ppl think. I LOVE the name...it's ALWAYS been my favorite color.
I am an absolute fan of Blue October and many songs speak to me. However, let's not forget that Justin is bipolar and suffers from a couple other mental disorders. He is prolly like many people with such big strong hearts in that he loves and hates with equal intensity. I do. She may be wicked crazy too, but i bet they had a torrid love affair unlike any other. I am sure it was hard on her having him be gone months on end, alone with a baby and the man she loves but can't stand is a thousand miles away. I think they are prolly equal in their faults and tortures. I bet Justin is an intense man to love, and equally easy to loath. I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of fire he has in his heart.. i bet he is an amazing lover. But we can all see the fury in his music.
Justin- if you ever read this, look me up, I am in Omaha. I bet you are fascinating is so many ways. The tortured and passionate enthrall me. But i am addictive, so maybe not.
I am also Bi-polor with a few other things on top of it. When I had my first child... It was an amazing and horrible experience. The father was a jerk to say it nicely... It is not easy to keep a relationship, I have noticed, when mental things getting in the way. It is difficult to deal with many things. I can feel for Justin.. I would be dead if I didn't have my (now 3) children in my life. I am just lucky I got to keep them.. Like I said I can only imagine how he must feel... I feel for you Justin, I really do... wicara01@yahoo.com
Just bought the album, Any Man. I am a female, with lots of female friends going through divorce/custody issues.
I just have to say, man, don't ever ever try to replace a daddy when the daddy wants to be there, (as much as he can). Unless he is a danger to the child. If there is a new boyfriend, call him the boyfriend.
Bipolar, whatever. I think he has it together enough to be a dad.
No replacement daddys. The little girl will just hate you later, momma Lisa.
who is libby??
I hope things are settled in Justins life, and Blues life... I know how hard it is to go through this type of nightmare..Blue will always love her Daddy, always. When children are small, its easy for the parent (like Lisa) to try to have someone else be the father figure, but it the end, Lisa will have no say in who Blue lives with, and Lisas actions, could come back to hurt her....
signed, a mom who has been to hell and back!
I've been.married to my husband who has bipolar for 15 years. We have 2 daughters. I have also been to hell and back with him. He's been stable 3 years now. I think.Justin wanted to give Lisa & Blue a normal life while he toured. Personally that would.not work for me. She couldn't handle it either BUT instead of trying to understand bipolar and helping him she got pissed and brought a new "daddy" in the picture. I do empathize with her to an extent but you just don't do that! I'm happy that Justin found someone willing to help him! They have a beautiful daughter who needs to.know her sister! They tour with him. He's better than.ever because of her support. Lisa moved on.a long time ago. Bipolar doesn't mean bad daddy. Shitty situation handled.in a shitty way
I'm just really familiar with.bipolar and I know how hard it can.be to.keep.the family together. He loves his girls so.much and deserves to have Blue in.his life. Lisa needs to read up on bipolar stability. Then she needs to swallow her pride and Let It Go! Blue will.resent her if she doesn't. Rant over...sorry, touchy subject for me
She knew he was bipolar. It is manageable. She made the vows. He was sick. She is just being vindictive.
I just saw Blue October at the Roseland in Portland Oregon Friday June 10th and OMFG, whoever said you need to see them live...IS RIGHT. What a great show and it ended far too soon. I had a balcony seat but after 2 songs I had to hit the general admission floor to dance and sing along! Debris, Light You Up, Worry List, Congratulations, etc.... I could listen to them all day! I love the way the booted Matt Ostrander off the stage so the core group could bust out a couple oldies! That may seem rude but since he is new, Im sure he understands that this is a group of guys that appear to be very tight and coincidentally, dealing with lifes issues just like the rest of us. Thank you Blue October for an evening I wont soon forget.
And when you introduce a child, your responsibility is to protect your child. So I believe she did that the best and only way she could. She left. Had she not, and she is the only one who can know what's best for her daughter at this point, bit jad she not left, who knows what would have happened or where life would have taken them. A good mother does what is best for her children. Thankfully, Justin got the help he so desperately needed and is on the right path to truly fulfill his dreams and be an amazing father.
